Reighton is on the King Charles III national coast path. The Lair is situated just a lovely 20 minute walk (or a 3 minute drive with on street parking) to the cliffs and the fabulous sandy beach below, with access down a quiet country lane and footpath. There is also a permissive tarmaced track access to the beach.
Reighton Gap is set within Filey bay, with Hunmanby Gap, Filey and the Brigg in one direction, and the white chalk of Speeton and Bempton cliffs (where there is an RSPB reserve-puffins and other birds) the opposite way. Dolphins and porpoises are regularly cross the Bay. Going away from the coast are the Yorkshire Wolds, with some of the most tranquil and gentle countryside in England.
Reighton is designated a conservation village, bypassed from the coastal road yet with good access to the wider region. It has a church, a book exchange point, an active village hall (offering Arts and Crafts, Pilates, pub nights, social lunches, coffee meets and more) and a renowned garden centre with Richardson’s Old Town Bakery outlet outside.
